Vegetable Fiber Wads: The vegetable fiber wad is traditional for use in the black powder cartridge rifle, and it is biodegradable, unlike the LDPE wads which will probably never break down. Vegetable fiber wads stay flexible, to seal the bore of the barrel against gas blow-by around the bullet. The inside diameter of your cartridge case should be larger than the groove diameter of your barrel, and your vegetable fiber wad should be a snug fit in your case.
